Big River Receives Funding for Training Employees
Jefferson City – State Sen. Jason Crowell,
R-Cape Girardeau, today announced that four more companies in the 27th Senate
District will receive funding assistance through the Missouri Job Development
Fund’s Customized Training Program to provide employee training.
The Missouri Customized Training Program offers funding assistance to eligible
Missouri employers for training and retraining new and existing employees. The
four companies to receive a total of $27,169 for training 43 new and current
employees are: Big River Telephone Company, Cape Girardeau; Jackson Machine &
Manufacturing, Jackson; Sabreliner Corporation, Perryville; Spartech Plastics,
Cape Girardeau.
“Our district and our state as a whole are benefiting from these funding
approvals,” Crowell said. “This year has been filled with moves to revitalize
Missouri’s economy, and strengthening our workforce is a great way to do that.”
As recently released, the ten other companies in Crowell’s district to also
benefit from funding assistance for training are: Nodenia USA, Jackson; Ole
Hickory Pits, Cape Girardeau; Pavestone, Scott City; Procter & Gamble
Corporation, Jackson; S & W Cabinets, Chaffee; Tetra Pak Materials, Sikeston; TG
Missouri, Perryville; Buzzi Unicem, Cape Girardeau; Havco Wood Products, Scott
City; and Technology & Networking, Inc., Scott City.
In Fiscal Year 2005, training assistance was approved for approximately 30,000
workers at more than 180 companies across Missouri.
