Big River Telephone’s On-Demand Teleconferencing Usage
Skyrockets
Cape Girardeau August 8, 2005—Big
River Telephone announced today that it hit an all-time high in Teleconference
Network Utilization this past weekend. The web-based teleconferencing system,
complete with on-demand features and an interactive web interface to control
conference calls, was heavily used by the Fantasy Gaming Market.
The Big River Teleconferencing Center gives the user total
control of the conference call by means of a web-enabled interface. The moderator, or “leader,” of the call can manage a more productive teleconference call from
his desk by simply using his own computer and a browser. All the features and
functionality are at the moderator’s fingertips and no additional equipment or
special software is needed.
“Our easy-to-use Web Based Teleconference system recorded
all time usage highs over the weekend. We expect the system to break all
monthly utilization records because of the “Fantasy Football” drafts that are
taking place,” stated Kevin Cantwell, President of Big River Telephone Company.
“Last year we saw a surge in usage but those numbers are being dwarfed.
Fantasy Football leagues like the idea of drafting players and interacting with
their league rivals in a live conversation. They also have told us they will
tape the call and make sure everyone has agreed to any terms and conditions.
The system allows for a verbal record to address any league issues during the
year”.
